1. Review Authenticity Standards
Reviews must stem from actual consumer experiences. We prohibit:
Self-Promotion: Business owners, family members, or employees rating their own listings.
Paid Reviews: Exchanging cash, gifts, or discounts for positive platform ratings.
Competitor Sabotage: Posting negative, bad-faith reviews on competing local businesses to damage their reputation.
2. Civil Discourse & Content Guidelines
We cultivate a polite and respectful community. Reviews will be immediately removed if they contain:
Hate speech, profanity, racial slurs, or direct harassment of local individuals.
Spam content, promo codes, external links, or irrelevant advertising material.
Private personal information, such as non-business phone numbers or physical home addresses.
3. How the Bayesian Rating System Works
To combat review manipulation, our directory uses a mathematical Bayesian Prior Formula. Instead of a basic average, a vendor's rating is weighted against the site-wide category baseline.
This ensures that a vendor with one 5-star review does not rank above a long-standing merchant with forty 4.8-star reviews. Fraudulent review rings are automatically detected and stripped of mathematical weight.
